Following the success of last year’s Fall Forum in Atlanta, GeoSLAM return to the BIM Forum in 2017.
GeoSLAM are represented at the BIM Forum by our west coast distributor Panoscan.

BIM Show Live:
GeoSLAM is delighted to announce our first UK exhibition of the year will be BIM Show Live, taking place in Newcastle from Wednesday 1st to Thursday 2nd February.
The venue for the exhibition and conference is the Boiler Shop, a 19th century warehouse space which has recently undergone a £200 million refurbishment.
We are proud to be a Bronze Sponsor of this event, which is now in its 7th year, and has gone from strength to strength. The 2-day events programme features a range of guest speakers from across multiple disciplines – including construction, engineering, design and implementation.

GeoSLAM’s Dutch reseller Geometius will be representing GeoSLAM at our first event of 2017. The 12th edition of InfraTech is taking place at Rotterdam Ahoy from Tuesday 17th through to Friday 20th January.
The conference and exhibition is the largest meeting of civil engineers in the Netherlands, and this year takes the theme of ‘Smart Connecting’. Over the 4 days, the conference expects visitor numbers to top 20,000, consisting of civil engineers, project managers, directors and department heads from a variety of market sectors.

BIMForum & USIBD

Come and join us in Atlanta for this dual expo event. On the Monday, the US Institute of Building Documentation (USIBD) kicks off with a symposium on the theme of ‘Discovering the Built Environment’. A number of presentations are being held throughout the day on the chosen theme – you can take a look at them all, here.
At around 5pm the symposium finishes and is immediately followed by a networking session for the BIMForum. The next 2 days will be taken up with a jam-packed agenda of all things BIM – check it out, here.

Europe’s largest annual event for the geospatial industry, Intergeo 2016 takes place in the northern German city of Hamburg.
The stats are impressive; in 2015, over 16,000 delegates from over 100 countries visited the event in Stuttgart, to see over 550 exhibitors representing more than 30 countries.
Following the success of last year’s show, GeoSLAM will once again be attending this prestigious event. This year we have a bigger and better stand, allowing us more space to carry out live product demonstrations and to showcase our latest products to interested visitors.

GeoSLAM will be in attendance at this year’s event, which is billed as Africa’s largest geomatics conference, exhibition and training event.
Not only will GeoSLAM be sending a representative from their UK office, they will also be supported by Optron, who recently signed as GeoSLAM’s reseller for the sub-Saharan Africa region (read more here).

Over 1,000 delegates are expected to attend the 3-day AGIT Symposium event, which is hosted by the University of Salzburg.
The conference is the chance for members of the international Geoinformation community to come together to exchange information, ideas and to discuss present and forthcoming trends in the GI community.
GeoSLAM is represented at the 2016 AGIT Symposium and EXPO event through our Austrian distributors – GRID-IT, who will be showcasing the ZEB-REVO, GeoSLAM’s latest handheld, mobile mapping unit. Read more about the ZEB-REVO here.
Also in attendance will be GeoSLAM’s very own European Channel Manager, Marcel, who will be on hand to provide live demonstrations and to answer customer queries.

It was another busy week for GeoSLAM as we headed down to London for two important events.
On Monday we held the inaugural Distributor Forum event for our European and Middle East dealers. We were delighted with the turnout as over 35 delegates from over 22 distributors travelled to the event, in which we set out our growth strategy and product roadmap for the coming months. This was of course followed by the obligatory visit to a local London pub for some real ale and the opportunity for our distributors to network in a more casual setting.
Following the success of this event, we hot-footed it over to the Business Design Centre for GeoBusiness 2016. Our primary focus for this event was to introduce the ZEB-REVO (launched in March) to the wider market, not just to surveyors but to a wide variety of end users. Throughout an incredibly busy 2 days we had a number of interesting discussions and live demonstrations with delegates from the film industry, security forces, estate agents and architects, as well as the more traditional building, mining, stockpile and transport surveying sectors.
Our second focus was to launch the latest version of GeoSLAM Desktop, our local processing engine. Version 1.4 features a brand new user-interface, providing users with additional information regarding the status of their data uploads. As with previous iterations, version 1.4 features a simple ‘drag and drop’ functionality, allowing for immediate processing. Raw data files can even be ‘queued’, allowing a larger batch of files to be processed overnight.
We also hosted not 1 but 2 presentations across the 2 days. Our Chief Operating Officer Mark Reid set out the business case for the ZEB-REVO, and explained in greater detail the importance of using a world-leading SLAM algorithm to gain the best results in the fastest survey time. This was backed up with an impressively-detailed image and animation of the Business Design Centre, which was scanned in just 20 minutes.
Finally, GeoBusiness was chosen as the launchpad for the first European showing of SurphSLAM – a brand new collaboration between GeoSLAM and Basis Software Inc. SurphSLAM is a trolley based mobile mapping system that combines the new Surphaser 10 laser scanner and GeoSLAM’s new RealTime SLAM registration software. Driven by user demand for a high precision real time mobile scanning system SurphSLAM can be used for extremely accurate high resolution 3D mobile mapping without the need for GPS. This unique integration of technologies also allows for the resulting point cloud to be registered and displayed in real time facilitating unparalleled performance and speed of survey.
Overall it was a highly successful week, with a lot of positive feedback from users – both existing and hopefully soon-to-be! We are already looking forward to next year’s event, and the exciting new developments that we will have to show off then.
