Product
Product owners and Application Engineers understand how LiDAR technologies will transform industries and re-define processes within the built environment. They work closely with customers and dealers to build roadmaps for future product development around market need.
Development
GeoSLAM developers build cutting edge technologies. They take deeply complex problems and turn them into software that solves a real need with our customers. They are problem solving, idea sharing, team players.
Marketing
Our marketeers are a multidiscipline team, they seek out the best ways to share how GeoSLAM’s solutions are disrupting the sectors we operate in. They launch products, run events, make videos, host webinars, you name it, the marketing team are on it.
Sales
Our sales team work with our dealers, enterprise and OEM customers to grow the number of people using our technology. They are energetic team players who are driven by exceeding the needs of our customers.
Operations
Our operations team are super efficient product assemblers, stock controllers, supply chain co-ordinators and quality controllers.
The support team are on hand to help our customers get the most from their GeoSLAM products – and be there to help when needed.
Finance and admin
The finance and admin teams keep the wheels of GeoSLAM turning. They manage accounts, business systems, admin, shipping and legislation.

UK
Field Applications Engineer
We are seeking a Field Applications Engineer (FAE), located in the UK or Europe covering the EMEA region. As a FAE, you will be a subject matter expert in your field, and be knowledgeable in software, hardware and interfaces for the appropriate product line. Your responsibilities are will be dynamic and varied, as listed below and you should be willing to travel extensively both nationally and internationally when required.
Key responsibilities:
- Act as the resident technical and subject matter expert both internally and with customers, quickly and easily solving prospective applications with the product
- Support Channel Managers as the primary technical resource for product and solution demonstrations to dealers and end customers, including creating specific demonstration workflows to harmonize and create consistent messages
- Coordinate, schedule and provide technical training and support to our dealers and customers at either their site, via web, or remote within limited but given standards
- Provide aftersales application support on GeoSLAM products to customer specific business requirements for key / major accounts, train and advise correct techniques to achieve the results expected to obtain from GeoSLAM Products.
- Contribute and present the transfer of market knowledge and requirements with roadmap ideas and customer development projects.
This position requires:
- Degree level education in a related field or equivalent experience
- Excellent understanding of the market for LiDAR / scanning based solutions for mapping and other applications across a wide range of segments.
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills, and the capacity to articulate complex value propositions to channel partners and end-users.
- Interpersonal and team skills
- Valid Driver’s License
Other task duties, which could be part of the job but not the essential ones:
- Act as a backup (local) support where required within Support
- Responsible for representing the product to customers and at field events such as conferences, seminars, trade shows, etc.
- Support the organization in decision making by providing relevant information/documentation
How you will make a difference @ GeoSLAM:
- Ensure the quality of the provided technical trainings and demonstrations (self-reliability)
- Ensure that all Partners and customers are served within established timing parameters (self-control)
- Collaborate with other Field Applications Engineers, Applications Engineers & Product Development to test workflows, solve problems, and share knowledge, including documenting workflows to share globally both for internal and external use
- Prepare, maintain and be expert user of demonstration / training equipment and software (self-training)
- Collaborate with relevant teams/departments from other disciplines within GeoSLAM (e.g. Sales, Marketing, R&D) to convey customer requirements, and assist with technical elements of Requests for Information/Requests for Proposal.

Applications Engineer

The role:
As an Applications Engineer, you will be a subject matter expert in your field, and be knowledgeable in software, hardware and interfaces for the appropriate product line. Your responsibilities will be dynamic and varied, from technical pre-sales, to training and you should be willing to travel extensively.
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting the product development team with research projects, requirements specifications, testing and documentation.
- Supporting sales and distributors in key demos and training events globally
- Supporting customers directly with technical training and consulting engagements
- Engaging as a key team member for short term Special Projects events and deliveries
- Backup resource for technical Support team
Skills, experience and qualifications:
- Degree in subjects such as Geography, Earth Sciences, Robotics preferred
- Good understanding of GIS essential
- Experience of LIDAR preferred
- Must have bags of initiative and ‘can do’ attitude

Embedded Software Engineer
Location: Ruddington, Nottinghamshire, UK

The role:
We’re looking for talented embedded software engineers who want to join our successful and growing team to help us further develop our product range of handheld mapping systems. Working on multiple projects, the successful candidate will have a broad range of development tasks to complete and will work on all stages of the software development lifecycle. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated and pro-active individual with excellent communication skills.
Key responsibilities:
- Development of bespoke embedded systems for sensor control and data recording
- Embedded control systems for multi sensor time synchronisation
- Motor and encoder control systems
- User interface controls
- Integration of new sensor hardware
- Developing applications to control and capture data from hardware sensors using manufacturers drivers and SDK
- Interpretation and conversion laser, IMU and video camera data
- Modifying open-source tools and drivers for internal use
- Working with colleagues & management team to deliver projects against a plan from concept to launch.
- Using and adapting existing system architectures to fit new specifications
- Producing technical documentation for internal technical teams.
Skills, experience and qualifications
Essential:
- Embedded systems and software development (C/C++)
- Experience of microcontroller development (ideally ATMEL microcontroller)
- Comfortable doing new feature development to an existing code base.
- Excellent fault-finding capabilities
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Track record of producing tested/testable code
Desirable:
- Proficiency with Linux, in particular Ubuntu
- Experience working with Lidar and IMU sensors
- Experience working with Robot Operating System (ROS)
