By exporting GeoSLAM data to different third party software, you can take your pointcloud to new places. In this blog we take a look at GeoSLAM data being used produce high resolution 3D models. These accurate engineering ready models, or “reality meshes”, are produced with Bentley Context Capture and are being used across a wide range of applications including inspection and asset management, construction works planning and VR.
Meshes produce high resolution data from real-world contextual imagery and as such, companies are increasingly using meshes as deliverables that can be easily interpreted by clients and non-technical stakeholders.
Mounting the ZEB Horizon on a UAV this data was captured in 8 minutes along with video imagery from the ZEB Cam. Using Context Capture both datasets, including colourised points from the synchronised video is taken into GeoSLAM Hub and exported into ContextCapure where the mesh is automatically generated.
